Shout is a song influential popular music, originally written by Rudolph Isley and recorded by The Isley Brothers which was released in 1959.
The song reached # 47 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became her first individual gold in terms of its duration and a melody became so covered by many American and foreign artists. Just a month after the initial release, Johnny O'Keefe touched in Australian television program Six O'Clock Rock and was No. 3 in Australia. Johnny O'keefe's recorded and released in 1964, but was only a minor success.
Scottish singer Lulu reached in the United Kingdom the # 7 hit with the song in 1964 (attributed to Lulu and Luvvers), and ranked # 8 with a re-recorded version in 1986. The song, performed by Otis Day and the Knights, was also featured prominently in the comedy National Lampoon's Animal House in 1978. Today, the song is played regularly at Dartmouth College , an Ivy League institution in Hanover , New Hampshire .
The 1959 original by The Isley Brothers appeared in the comedy film Diner in 1982. Alvin and the Chipmunks also covered the song for his album Club Chipmunk: The Dance Mixes released in 1996, with Simon providing lead vocals. The song was also played by the band The Beatles and their album was released on Anthology 3 in 1996. The American band Green Day has also played this song live. It has become a favorite of their live performances, along with the song "King For A Day".
The song was placed in the Hall of Fame Grammy in 1999. It ranked number 118 in the 500 greatest songs of all time for the magazine Rolling Stone .

Franken will be the lead personality on Air America Radio, a startup venture promising a liberal alternative to powerhouse radio talk show pundits like Rush Limbaugh.
